Move Gliffy diagrams from Jira to Confluence

You can export and import diagrams in Gliffy format (.gliffy) for reuse within Gliffy. Other formats such as PNG, JPG, and SVG are available for viewing only and cannot be re-imported as editable diagrams.

You cannot move diagrams in bulk Each diagram must be moved individually.

End users can move the diagrams as updates to diagrams are needed.

Export a diagram from Jira

  1. Open a Gliffy diagram in Jira.

  2. In the Gliffy editor, click File and click Export.

  3. Select Gliffy format (.Gliffy). You can also export as PNG, JPG, or SVG for reference, but these cannot be imported back into Gliffy.

The exported file is saved in your browser’s default download folder.

If using Chrome and the Large or Extra Large size options are unavailable, your diagram may be too large for Chrome memory limits. Use Firefox as a workaround.

Import a diagram to Confluence

  1. In Confluence, start a new Gliffy diagram. See Add diagrams to a Confluence page.

  2. On the Gliffy start screen, click Import a Diagram.

  3. Click Browse and locate the exported .Gliffy file from Jira.

  4. Double-click the file to select it.

The diagram opens in the Gliffy editor within Confluence.
