Resizing objects

You can resize any object by eye or or by specifying an exact width and height. You can also easily select all objects in your diagram to resize an entire diagram at once.

You cannot resize objects that are locked (see Locking and unlocking objects).
  1. Select the object to resize.

To select an object, from the toolbar, click the pointer arrowhead icon and click the object. Or, click and drag around the entire object and release so that a blue bounding box appears . To select the entire diagram, from the Edit menu, click Select All (or press Ctrl+A on your keyboard).
  2. To resize using your cursor, click any corner of the bounding box and drag it until the shape or group of shapes is the correct size. While you're resizing an object, you see it's dimensions in pixels. If Snap to grid is enabled, objects automatically resize in increments of 10 pixels. If Drawing guides are enabled, green lines help you resize the object in alignment with the edges or center of other objects.

  3. To specify exact dimensions, click the properties black square symbol button.

    • In the W field, type the width, in pixels.
    • In the H field, type the height, in pixels.
Certain shapes, particularly complex network or floorplan symbols, have a locked aspect ratio, which will affect how they resize. To lock or unlock the aspect ratio for a shape, select or clear the Aspect Ratio check box.
